An award-winning pie company is making sure vegetarians have some
yummy options at the first Delicious North East Food and Drink Festival.
Jon Liddicoat, 32, founded the New Zealand Gourmet Pie Company last year after moving to Corbridge to marry his wife.
Jon said: “I really missed the taste of home so I decided to recreate it here.
“We’ve
got lots of best sellers like steak and cheese, and we’ve just won a
gold award for our mince and lamb pie at the British Pie Awards in
Melton Mowbray.
“But we like to cater for all tastes, so we’re bringing our goat’s cheese and spinach pies along too.
“They’re really popular with vegetarians who are sick of the same old offerings, and we make the pastry without animal fat.”
